BREAKING: Jammeh flees Gambia

Gambia’s former President Yahya Jammeh has left the country in the wake of elections that ousted him after 22 years in power.
He boarded a plane to Guinea and from there will travel on to exile in Equatorial Guinea, regional group ECOWAS says.
Mr Jammeh was defeated in December’s election by Adama Barrow but went on to challenge the results.
Mr Barrow has been in Senegal but says he will return to The Gambia soon.
In an interview with the BBC, Mr Barrow said he wanted to create a truth and reconciliation committee to investigate allegations of human rights abuses during Mr Jammeh’s time in office.
Marcel de Souza, president of the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas), said the military operation that had sent West African troops into The Gambia in support of Mr Barrow, was now ended, although some would remain to ensure security.
Yahya Jammeh arrived at the airport amid a large convoy of vehicles and throngs of cheering supporters.
He stood on a small platform to hear ceremonial music performed by a military band and then walked down a long red carpet surrounded by dignitaries.
He climbed the steps to the plane, turned and kissed and waved a Koran at those assembled.
After 22 years in power, he left bound for Guinea where it’s believed he will stay before going on to another country.
Soldiers, supporters and dignitaries were emotional as he left – many of them crying. Many others in The Gambia are glad to see the end of what they considered a dictatorship, where there was little respect for human rights or freedom of speech
The details of the arrangements made – or promises offered to persuade Mr Jammeh to give up power peacefully are not yet known, but there was the real threat of military action from regional states.
He’s the first president to peacefully hand over power in The Gambia since independence from Britain in 1965.
Mr Barrow has been in neighbouring Senegal for days and was inaugurated as president in the Gambian embassy there on Thursday.
Troops from several West African nations, including Senegal, had been deployed in The Gambia, threatening to drive Mr Jammeh out of office if he did not agree to go.
Mr Jammeh’s decision to quit came after talks with the presidents of Guinea and Mauritania.
Guinea’s President Alpha Conde was with Mr Jammeh and his wife on the plane that left Banjul late on Saturday.
In an address on state television, Mr Jammeh, who had once said he would rule The Gambia for a billion years, said he would stand down and that it was “not necessary that a single drop of blood be shed”.
“I have decided today in good conscience to relinquish the mantle of leadership of this great nation with infinite gratitude to all Gambians,” he said.

The Presidency last night refuted speculations that President Muhammadu Buhari was in a terrible health condition that could lead to his death, saying the president was well and alive.
The presidency spoke through the two media aides of the president on media and publicity namely Mr. Femi Adesina who’s the Special Adviser and Mallam Garba Shehu who’s the Senior Special Assistant.
In his reaction to the speculations on his Twitter handle, Adesina thanked all those who wished the president well while asking for the Grace of God for repentance on all those who carried the rumors.
He said: “Best wishes to all who wish PMB well. As for those who carry evil rumours, may they receive grace to repent.” Also reacting to speculations concerning the health of the president, Shehu, in a message he posted on twitter @GarShehu said: “The president cannot be holidaying in the United Kingdom and be in Germany, dead or alive at the same time. ”
He added that Buhari “was unlike a past president who was ‎at Ota with Chief Obasanjo and attending the Trump inauguration in Washington DC, being in two places at the same time.”
It will be recalled that president Buhari left Nigeria on Thursday for United Kingdom on a medical vacation. The nature of his sickness was not disclosed but the presidency called it a routine medical checkup

Suffering? A few minutes before He died,
Jesus stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water
From his wounds.

We see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound
To His side... But do we realize His wounds
Were actually made in his body. A hammer
Driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped
And an even large nail hammered through the arches, then a
Roman guard piercing His side with a spear. But
Before the nails and the spear Jesus was whipped and
Beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the
Flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His
Face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The
Crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp. Most men
Would not have survived this torture.

To bleed out, only water poured from His
Wounds.
The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters
(just less than a gallon) of blood.
Jesus poured all 3.5
Liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into His
Members; a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond
That, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His
Chest..
All these without
Mentioning the humiliation He suffered after carrying His own
Cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his
Face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight,
Only for its higher part, where His hands were
Nailed).
Jesus had
To endure this experience, to open the
Gates of Heaven,
So that you can have free

Could be "washed" away. All of them, with no exception!

Apostle Johnson Suleman is still on the matter of Kaduna’s governor, Mallam Nasir El Rufai over the governor’s actions perceived to be targeted at Christians in the Northern Nigerian State.

Today’s sermon had a 16 minute session dedicated to El Rufai in which he branded the governor the ‘Herod of Kaduna‘ and passed a death sentence on him. But, not before he had listed out the governor’s crimes against Christians and Christianity in Kaduna.

The cleric, who is founder of Auchi-based Omega Fire and Miracles Ministries had issued a cease or die order to El Rufai over his controversial bill which seeks to restrict preaching activities in Kaduna State. Suleman believes that the religious preaching bill is targeted at restricting the freedom of worship of Christians.

Also of vexation to Apostle Suleman is the matter of demolition of a Christian community in Kaduna, Gbagyi where 4,000 houses and 42 churches have been earmarked for demolition by the Kaduna State government.

Another issue which the Apostle mentioned is the time El Rufai shared a message on Twitter which suggested that Jesus Christ had a sexual relationship with Mary Magdalene.

In the recently-published list, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor TB Joshua, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and Pastor Chris Okotie feature as numbers one, two, seven, eight and nine respectively. Nigeria's evangelical clergymen are both wealthy and highly influential.


Apart from owning churches where worshipers have to pay 10% of their earnings, most of them also own businesses, including universities and media outlets. Most of them also own one or several private jets and are behind the rising boom of the private aircraft industry in Nigeria.



Often criticised for his emphasis on material wealth, Bishop Oyedepo owns four private jets, with a fifth recently ordered and also has buildings all around the world, including London and the US. He owns two private universities and a publishing house but has hit back at his critics in the past, saying God made him wealthy.

Bishop Oyedepo said: "Our church is for all the people who believe that Jesus already paid for them to be rich and those who don’t believe start believing when they see it happen in a lot of people’s lives. We are not ashamed to be called the church of the rich because if they call your family poor, will you be excited?


"Even when a family is poor, they hate to be called poor. No man in his right mind enjoys being called poor and nobody truly wants to be poor, although people may pretend."


Several of these pastors have also claimed that they provide jobs through the various businesses, as their church buildings provide work for construction workers. They also claim to have helped a lot of people out of poverty.
